Estimating model parameters from SP anomaly of sheet-shaped sources using Differential Search and Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithms

Abstract In this study, the efficiency of estimating model parameters sheet-shaped single and multiple-sources self-potential (SP) anomaly using Differential Search algorithm (DSA) was investigated. First all, noise-free noisy synthetic anomalies were calculated for a source, its estimated by DSA. The DSA inversion also done consisting three inclined sheets. order to test effectiveness method, same processes repeated with more conventional algorithm, PSO, solutions both methods compared. results analyses have shown that can predict as accurately PSO. Then, algorithms applied two field SP (Surda Beldih) been evaluated different in literature. source Surda is modelled one sheet, whereas Beldih assumed consist five each it determined they are good agreement findings previous studies. contribution regional background included coefficients estimated. Finally, be concluded solve without need initial values required iterative an efficient promising determining sources.
